VerboVisualeVirtuale
Description
VerboVisualeVirtuale stems from the collaboration between the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto (Mart), the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Bolzano (Museion), and the Digital Humanities Division of the Bruno Kessler Foundation of Trento. The project involved the realisation of a web-based platform promoting the discovery and exploration of the verbo-visual researches filed in the Archivio di Nuova Scrittura (ANS), founded by the collector Paolo Della Grazia and housed at the museums of Rovereto and Bolzano. Its primary goal was to pool together essential data from the two museums’ database entries in a new electronic platform with a view to reuniting the collection in a new virtual space that would be easy to access and to use. The second goal was to study the documentary and book sections of the ANS in order to recreate a link between the archive’s various souls and illustrate their historical and artistic importance. To this end, a digital archive was designed and built to highlight a selection of artists representative of the collection and investigate their complex interrelations through the material held at the two museums. Subsequently, an interactive format was developed, based on a network analysis model, designed to provided unprecedented access to the collection for research purposes.
